October 2008 - Gord
served as as
Archery/Survival Instructor (95), Survival/Outtripper Instructor (96), Staff Assistant
(97), Maintenance (98), Fall
Assistant Ranger (98),
Senior Maintenance (01), Spring Assistant Ranger (01), and Composite Skipper
(00-01).
In 1999,
Gord attended college during the summer, but volunteered at camp as much as he
could. Gord has been awarded the
Purple Bead twice - 1996 and 1998.
In 2000 he was awarded the HSR
Staff Alumni
Bursary.
Over the years, Gord has also been a
Hamilton cub leader, scout leader, and an active rover sitting on round tables.
He is currently a Scout leader for a 'Kids at
Risk' program in Hamilton. Gord is also a talented
musician and at camp was often seen with his guitar.
Gord completed the Drilling
and Blasting program, then continued with Geology at Sir Sandford Fleming
College, and is now working for Defasco.
He married Lauren Therien (01) on
September 9, 2005. They are currently living in Hamilton, Ontario and welcomed
son Emmett Iain McLean into the family on February 6, 2008!.
